Seminar on “Online Privacy and Protection of Personal Data for a Secured Cyberspace: Global Responses and Lessons for Bangladesh” Held at BUP

Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) organized a seminar titled “Online Privacy and Protection of Personal Data for a Secured Cyberspace: Global Responses and Lessons for Bangladesh” on 9 May 2019 at Bijoy Auditorium in its campus. The seminar was organized by the Department of Law under Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies.
In the seminar, Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, Honorable Minister of State, ICT Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as the chief guest. VC Major General MD Emdad-Ul-Bari, ndc, psc, te and Pro-VC Professor M Abul Kashem Mozumder, PhD were present as the special guests. Dr. Mohammad Ershadul Karim, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Law, University of Malaya, Malaysia was present as the keynote speaker. Brig Gen Md Siddiqul Alam Sikder, BSP, ndc, psc, Dean, Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies moderated the seminar.
The honorable state minister said in the seminar that Data Protection Law will be enacted very soon that will help the common people to protect the information. He also said that the first cyber security specialized lab in university level will be established in BUP with the help of ICT Ministry.
Among others, BUP high officials, faculty members and students were also present in the seminar.
