Seminar on “Bangladesh Capital Market Challenges and Art of Investment for the Beginners” held at BUP

Dhaka, 27 February 2019: Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) organized a seminar titled “BANGLADESH CAPITAL MARKET CHALLENGES AND ART OF INVESTMENT FOR THE BEGINNERS” on 27 February 2019 at Bijoy Auditorium on its campus. The seminar was organized by the Department of Business Administration in Finance and Banking under Faculty of Business Studies. The main purpose of this seminar was to discuss about the challenges of Bangladesh capital market and what indicators the investors should follow during investment.
BUP VC Major General MD Emdad-Ul-Bari, ndc, psc, te was present as chief guest and Pro-VC Professor M Abul Kashem Mozumder, PhD was present as special guest. Mr. Arif Khan, CEO & Managing Director of IDLC Finance Limited presented the keynote papers while Brigadier General Muhammad Wasim-Ul-Haq, ndu, afwc, psc, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies moderated the seminar.
The speakers said that the investors must avoid rumor and also need to invest for long time in the capital market. It came into discussion that only 1% of total population in Bangladesh are involved with capital market due to the lack of trust on this market, while huge number of investors are involved in capital market of our neibouring countries. The speakers also emphasized on the improvement of the capital market monitoring system to attract the general investors.
Among others, BUP high officials, faculty members and students were present at the seminar.
