Success of BUP in a debate competition held in Nepal

The final round of the debate competition in Nepal titled 'This house, as a developing nation, would prefer a prosperous autocracy over fragile democracy' completed on 10 July 2017. Xavier Academy, located in the heart of Kathmandu, hosted the event. Nepal team came up with champion trophy at the round while Literature and Debate Club of Bangladesh University of Professionals secured the runners up title. In association of British Council Nepal, the debate competition began on July 6. A total of 64 teams of five country including USA, Germany and India took part in the event. The nine-member BUP team, Literature and Debate Club, was led by BUP English Department Lecturer Nurul Islam qualified for the final at the contest.
