Closing Ceremony of Contrast 3.0 held at Jatiya Chitrashala

CONTRAST 3.0, a four days long photography exhibition and photo meet-up organized by BUP Photography Society (BUPPS) at Jatiya Chitrashala Gallery-1 of Bangladesh Shilpokala Academy has been ended on December 22, 2019.


The closing ceremony was held on Sunday 4 pm at the Plaza of Jatiya Chitrashala where State Minister for the Ministry of Cultural Affairs K. M. Khalid was present as the Chief Guest and Dean of the Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies Brigadier General Saif-Ur-Rahman, psc was present as Special Guest.

K. M. Khalid said, "The identity of a nation is its culture; and its reflection is in practices through different ways and new shapes."

 He urged young people to preserve their culture in the age of degenerate culture."The initiative of BUPPS gathered photographers from different parts of Bangladesh under the same roof," he said to praise BUPPS.

Brigadier General Saif-Ur-Rahman said, "For the past three years, BUPPS has been working tirelessly to create an opportunity for talent to gather and showcase their artwork from across the country, through their flagship event Contrast."

They hardcovered the crests among the winners. North South University Art & Photography Club (NSUAPC) and Shahjalal University Photography Association (SUPA) become the champion and runner up in order in club-based contest.


On the other hand, in individual category the champions are: Bidita Jaman in both Abstract and Portrait themes, Khalid Bin Abdullah in wildlife and Swashata Siyam in Travel theme.


Before starting the closing ceremony State Minister visited the photo gallery and viewed all photographs. About 100 photographs from different photography clubs of universities, colleges, and other individuals were exhibited in the exhibition. On the other hand, some of the historical photographs during the liberation war period were also exhibited in a special corner.


BUPPS started its journey at Bangladesh University of Professionals in 2016 and came up with Contrast 1.0 in December 2017 at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
