Final Program of BUP BCC Corporiddlerz 2019 held

The most awaited grand finale of Corporiddlerz 2019 Powered by NRBC Bank, organized by BUP BCC took place on Sunday, 17 November 2019 at Bijoy Auditorium of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).

Over the years, BUP BCC’s flagship event, Corporiddlerz, has become a celebrated Inter-University business strategy competition among passionate business undergraduates all across the nation. In today’s time, the competition stands to tests the participants to the very limit of their knowledge and capacity to turn analytics into rational business decisions and offers students a glimpse into the corporate world. 

More than 125 teams from around the country registered this year and took part in the initial round of online case-solving. Only 48 teams qualified for the second round, which involved launching products in front of a panel of judges hailing from some of the biggest corporate names in Bangladesh. From here, only 18 teams moved on to the third round. The third round was held over the course of two days. On the first day, the original teams of four were split and participants were placed in random groups and given a case to solve on the spot, followed by presentations. As for the second phase, all the original teams were put back together to work on their own project plans. The project plans were pitched to an esteemed panel of judges. 

After an intense fight and strong competition, the top 6 teams were handpicked for the Grand Finale of Corporiddlerz 2019; namely Team Mudblood, Team Blank Balance and Team In Sane from Bangladesh University of Professionals; Team Leftover Pizza and Team Corporate Commandos from Jahangirnagar University; and Team Miscellany from Dhaka Univeristy (IBA). From the six worthy finalists, Team Blank Balance took home the Championship title, and Team Mudblood became the first runner-up- both the team hailing from home ground. Meanwhile, Team Miscellany secured the second runner-up position. Together, the three teams grabbed the total prize money of BDT 2,25,000.

The six teams were assigned the task of developing a water resourcing model that will not only solve the problems of contaminated water in Bangladesh but also serve as a CSR activity leveraging a hypothetical company. This, the teams had to solve and present on stage in front of the audience, stakeholders and judges alike. 

The esteemed judge panel for the final round included: Dr. M Shahid Iqbal Sarkar, CEO of Army Pharma, a concern of Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory;  Jane Alam Romel, Group Chief Marketing Officer, IDLC; MD Emdadul Haque, Director of Infrastructure Service Management, Banglalink; Jenefa Jabbar, Director, HRLS & Social Compliance, BRAC. 

In the Grand finale, Pro Vice-Chancellor of BUP, Prof. Dr. M Abul Kashem Mozumder, PhD was present as the Chief Guest and distribute the prizes among the winners. Besides, Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Padma Bank Limited was special guest of prestigious grand finale program.
