The Freshers’ Reception for the newly enrolled students of Master of Public Health (MPH) was held on 13 January 2023 at Bijoy Auditorium in the campus of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). The programme was organized by the Faculty of Medical Studies (FMS), BUP. Brigadier General Neelima Akhter, SGP, MPhil, MPH, Dean, FMS, was present in the session as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr Shafiqul Islam, PhD, former head of the Department of Epidemiology, NIPSOM, Dhaka delivered the welcome speech for the freshers.

The Chief Guest in her speech stated that the health system of Bangladesh is still going through some challenges. As a result, people are being deprived of appropriate medical care. Mentioning as the future public health leaders, she urged upon the newly enrolled students to contribute solving all health challenges to ensure health rights.

Among others, the Faculties of the MPH Programme, Officials of BUP, the First batch and the Second batch students of MPH were present at the programme.
