LAW STUDENT GRABBED 4th POSITION IN INTERNATIONAL QUIZ COMPETITION “OIC KNOWLEDE MASTER” ORGANIZED BY DHAKA OIC YOUTH CAPITAL 2020

Dhaka. 28 May 2022: Md Rumon Ahmed who is an undergrade student of Department of Law, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) has achieved 4th position in an International Quiz Competition “OIC KNOWLEDGE MASTER” which was organized by OIC Youth Capital 2020 in collaboration with Ministry of Youth and Sports, Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum along with partnership with Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The competition was held online due to Covid-19 between 17th March- 30 June 2021 where more than thousand participants participated from 45 OIC States. The competition had 5 rounds including preliminary round, 2nd round, Quarter Final, Semi-Final and Final. After successfully qualifying 4 immensely competitive stages Rumon Ahmed participated in the Final stage of the Competition where he attained 4th position. The winners were handed their certificates and prizemoney in a grand closing ceremony.  The grand closing ceremony of the OIC Youth Capital 2020 was held on 30 December 2021 in Osmani Memorial Auditorium, Dhaka.

The grand closing ceremony was attended by Honorable President of People’s Republic of Bangladesh, His Excellency Md. Abdul Hamid along with Honorable Minster of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ak Abdul Momen, Honorable State Minister for Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Md. Zahid Ahsan, Hon’ble Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment of the Government of the Republic of Maldives, Ahmed Mahloof, Hon’ble Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, Mr. Timur Suleymanov, Hon’ble President of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), Mr. Taha Ayhan, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Md. Akhter Hossain, dignitaries, high-level delegates from the OIC region and host country Bangladesh, and the participating youth from Bangladesh and the OIC Member States. This will remain as a milestone and matter of pride for the Department of Law as well as for the University.
