Success of BUP in competition organized by BNCC
Bangladesh National Cadet Corps is working to build the student community as a patriotic and conscious citizen. In continuation, on the occasion of National Mourning Day on 15th August and the 46th martyrdom anniversary of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the BNCC organized the Ramana Regiment to compete in the inter-battalion essay reading competition.
Cadet students from hundreds of schools, colleges and universities in and around Dhaka participated in the competition. The theme of the competition was Bangabandhu’s biography, and the ideals of Bangamata and her contribution to Bangabandhu’s life.
The cadets made the event a success with their personal skills and language style. On August 19, the results of the competition were released and prizes were distributed. The chief guest was Lt Col Rahat Nawaz, Commander, BNCC Ramana Regiment. Battalion adjutants and platoon commanders were also present.
Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) won the highest number of awards out of 9 awards in 3 categories in the competition. Cadet Lance Corporal Md. Fahim Imtiaz from Dept of Business Administration in Finance and Banking, Faculty of Business Studies (FBS), BUP was ranked 1st in the Bengali essay reading of Bangabandhu's biography and Cadet Lance Corporal Sanzana Salim Borsha from Dept of Public Administration, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) was ranked 3rd in the Bangamata's article. Cadets from various educational institutions including Dhaka University, Jagannath University were also awarded.
Lt Col Rahat Nawaz, commander of the BNCC Ramana Regiment, said that just as such an event will help cadets learn about Bangabandhu's life, it will help the youth to take the country forward by holding the ideals of the father of the nation.
