About Department of Pharmacy

Established in 2025 under the Faculty of Medical Studies at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), the Department of Pharmacy is committed to offering a comprehensive undergraduate program in Pharmacy that prepares students to meet the evolving demands of the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. The department aims to develop competent pharmacists through a rigorous curriculum that integrates pharmaceutical sciences, clinical knowledge, laboratory training, industrial exposure, research activities, and professional ethics. Through interdisciplinary education, innovative teaching approaches, and practical learning experiences, the department equips students with the knowledge and skills required to ensure the safe, effective, and rational use of medicines and to contribute to advancements in healthcare and pharmaceutical sciences.

Recognizing the diverse and expanding roles of pharmacists in modern healthcare systems, the curriculum encompasses pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, biotechnology, clinical pharmacy, and related biomedical sciences. By fostering a collaborative academic environment, the department seeks to develop skilled professionals capable of addressing local and global healthcare challenges through scientific innovation, evidence-based practice, and lifelong learning.
