Biography

Soneya Akter is a Lecturer in the Department of Business Administration (General) at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). She joined BUP on 1 September 2026. Prior to joining BUP, she served as a faculty member at Southeast University and at Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology. She completed her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from the University of Dhaka. Her academic and professional interests lie in the areas of Circular Economy, Sustainable Marketing, Digital Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Financial inclusion, Women Empowerment, Health and Education and Artificial Intelligence.During her tenure at Southeast University, she served as the Coordinator of the Hult Prize for two consecutive years, contributing to the development of students' entrepreneurial mindset, innovation, and problem-solving abilities.As an educator, Ms. Akter believes that teaching goes beyond delivering academic knowledge. She is committed to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that encourages students to think critically, develop practical and professional skills and prepare themselves for their future careers.
