Biography
Dr. Mohammad Ali is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration in Management Studies at the Faculty of Business Studies, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). He obtained his Ph.D. with distinction from the School of Business (AACSB-accredited) at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), Beijing, China. He also earned an M.Phil. from BUP and completed his BBA and MBA from the University of Dhaka.
Since joining BUP in 2017, Dr. Ali has contributed to teaching, research, and academic administration. He has served as the Program Coordinator for the MBA (Professional) Program and as the Moderator of the BUP Human Resource and Leadership Club. Before joining BUP, Dr. Ali held academic positions at the Army IBA in Savar and City University. He also has experience working as a faculty member at the Bangladesh Military Academy, and as a part-time trainer at BIHRM and BPMI.
As an active researcher, Dr. Ali has published in nationally and internationally recognized journals, including several Scopus- and Web of Science-indexed outlets. His scholarly work addresses contemporary issues such as leadership effectiveness, inclusive climate, employee engagement, talent development, employee retention, and employee behavior. His research has appeared in leading journals such as Global Business and Organizational Excellence, Management Matters, Heliyon, and other reputable international publications.
He has also contributed to international conferences and to an academic book chapter published by Routledge (Taylor & Francis Group). He has also successfully completed several research projects funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, addressing issues related to leadership, employee retention, employee behavior, training effectiveness, and organizational performance.
Dr. Ali is a recipient of several academic distinctions and scholarships, including the Chinese Government Scholarship and merit-based scholarship from the University of Dhaka. His current research interests include leadership practices, contemporary HRM issues, employee well-being, talent management strategies, employee commitment, and employee behavior.
