Biography
Professor Dr. Shima Zaman is a distinguished academic in the Department of Law at the University of Dhaka. She has an exceptional academic background, having obtained her PhD in Law from Macquarie University, Australia in 2012, an LLM in Intellectual Property Law from The George Washington University, USA, and both LLB (Hons) and LLM (General) from the University of Dhaka with top academic distinctions.
Dr. Zaman has served in several key administrative roles, including Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Dhaka (2023–2024), and has contributed significantly to legal education and governance. Her areas of interest include intellectual property law and commercial law, and she has published scholarly work in leading legal journals, including the Dhaka University Law Journal.
She is also actively involved in academic leadership, serving on editorial boards and university committees. Her career reflects a deep commitment to legal scholarship, academic integrity, and institutional service.
