Biography
Israt Jahan Oishe currently serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Bangladesh. She holds both a Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSS) and a Master of Social Sciences (MSS) in Mass Communication and Journalism from BUP, following her secondary and higher secondary education at the prestigious Mymensingh Girls' Cadet College. As a dedicated academician, she actively teaches courses such as Concepts of Communication, Mass Communication: Structure and Process, Mass Communication Theories, News Reporting, Current World Affairs, and Digital Media Communication. In recognition of her contributions to the community, she was awarded the ‘Vice Chancellor’s Coin of Excellence’ by BUP.
Her research interests include political communication, public opinion, and media effects. Her scholarly work offers a nuanced understanding of how political discourse and media influence public perception in Bangladesh. Additionally, she has received research funding from the University Grants Commission (UGC) through the Centre for Higher Studies and Research (CHSR) and BUP Research Centre (BRC). Known for her dynamic teaching methods and research-driven approach, Ms. Oishe makes substantial contributions to both the academic and co-curricular activities at the university.
