Biography

Md. Appel Mahmud Pranto serves as a Lecturer at the Department of Information and Communication Technology at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Dhaka, Bangladesh. He received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Information and Communication Engineering (ICE) from Bangladesh University of Professionals, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Previously, he served as a Lecturer at the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology (BAUET), Natore. Besides that, he also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Department of ICT at Bangladesh University of Professionals. Many of his research works have been published in international peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and book chapters. His master’s research focuses on enhanced transformer-based deep learning models for image integrity and forensics. His research interests include Biomedical Applications, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Image Forensics, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing (NLP). He received the 3rd Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Trends in Electronics and Health Informatics in 2023 and was the 2nd Runner-Up in the Rangpur Zone of the NASA Space Apps Challenge Bangladesh in 2021.
