A training titled “Scopus and Global Rankings: Strengthening Institutional Research Profile” was organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) on 20 November 2025 at 1000 hours. The program aimed to enhance the understanding of global ranking metrics, research visibility in Scopus and strategies for improving institutional research output in Scopus. The session was conducted by Ms. Hasina Afroz, Librarian, BRAC University, who served as the resource person. She covered essential aspects of Scopus indexing, publication, affiliations, author profile, global ranking indicators, effective research management practices that contribute to strengthening an institution’s international profile. The program concluded with an engaging discussion on strategic approaches for improving publication quality and increasing the university’s visibility in international ranking platforms. The training session was chaired by Captain Mahbubur Rashid, (L), psc, BN, Director, IQAC, BUP. Department chairmen and faculty members from various faculties participated in the training, making the session interactive and informative. Their active engagement reflected BUP’s continuous commitment to improving research excellence and strengthening its global standing.
