The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) successfully organized titled “From Research Idea to Publication: A Complete Roadmap for Journal Publishing” on 27 June 2026 at the ICT Lab, Room No. 1104, FBS Tower, BUP. The training was arranged to strengthen the research and scholarly publication capabilities of BUP faculty members by providing a comprehensive understanding of the entire publication process, from conceptualizing research ideas to publishing in internationally recognized journals. The training commenced with an inaugural session, followed by a presentation on research idea development and the identification of contemporary research issues conducted by Captain Mahbubur Rashid, (L), psc, BN, Director, IQAC, BUP. The session emphasized the importance of selecting relevant and impactful research problems aligned with current academic and societal challenges. Participants gained practical insights into developing innovative research concepts and establishing a strong foundation for high-quality scholarly work. The second technical session was delivered by Lt Gen (Retd.) Md. Aminul Karim, Distinguished Professor, Department of International Relations, BUP, who provided an in-depth discussion on manuscript writing for publication. The session covered the essential structure of a publishable journal article, including the preparation of abstracts, introductions, methodologies, results and criteria for selecting appropriate journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science (WoS). He also highlighted effective academic writing techniques, referencing practices, citation management, and strategies for preparing manuscripts that meet the standards of reputable academic journals. A total of 45 participants, comprising faculty members and officers from different attended the programme.
