Dhaka, April 26, 2026 — A team from Bangladesh University of Professionals, Rotten MARS, achieved remarkable success by securing Second Runner-Up (Bronze Award) at the HSBC-BRAC Business Case Competition (National Round), one of the country’s most prestigious undergraduate business competitions.
Competing against 1,500+ participants from 45+ universities across Bangladesh, the team demonstrated excellence in strategic thinking, business analysis and presentation, ultimately finishing 3rd place nationally.
The competition, jointly organized by HSBC and BRAC University, began on January 28, 2026, and concluded with the grand finale on April 26, 2026, held at BRAC University.
Known for simulating real-world consulting challenges, the HSBC Business Case Competition requires undergraduate teams to solve complex business problems under intense time pressure. Participants analyze case scenarios, develop data-driven strategic recommendations, and defend their solutions before panels of expert judges. The competition is widely recognized for testing critical thinking, financial analysis, teamwork, and communication skills.
Representing Bangladesh University of Professionals under the team name Rotten MARS, the winning members were:

For their achievement, the team received the Bronze Award along with Tk 50,000 prize money.
The team’s performance stood out for its innovative problem-solving approach, strong financial and strategic analysis, and compelling presentation before the judges.
Speaking about the achievement, team members said the competition provided a valuable platform to apply classroom knowledge to real-world business challenges while gaining consulting-style experience at a national level.
The HSBC Business Case Competition is considered a gateway to global business case arenas, where winners from national rounds often advance to international finals, making it one of the most competitive undergraduate contests in the business world.
The success of Rotten MARS adds another milestone to BUP’s growing presence in national case competitions and highlights the talent of young Bangladeshi business students on competitive platforms.
