Objective

The four-fold objectives of this program are: • (Firstly), to provide academic education of peace, security, conflict and human rights issues; • (Secondly), to provide advanced research knowledge to the participants of this program to undertake policy-oriented research and to share the findings of the research among the wider audience; and • (Thirdly), to create a vibrant civil-military professional body that works in a co-operative manner for the greater pursuit of world peace and universal human rights. • (Finally), to strengthen the Bangladeshi efforts of international peacemaking, peace keeping and peace-building.

Mission

The Program has few major feature constituents like course work, dissertation, which includes term paper and writing. Each constituent is linked to the other in a manner that allows the student to make the most of a conscientious focus on the peace, conflict, security and politics of conflict and violence, as well as ensuring that she/he is able to engage with wider range of field-based issues with peace practitioners, policy makers and agencies.

Vision

Masters of Peace, Conflict and Human Rights Studies is basically focusing on the demand of the globalized generations and to fulfill the security needs in the 21st century. Entering into the first quarter of the twenty first century, the world is still beset by deep-rooted and multi-layered inequalities that fuel unrest and conflicts in different parts of the world. As contemporary societies come to terms with the aftermath of unilateralist political change and continued militarization of different parts of the world, one has to emphasize the need for articulating an alternative, historically and ethically grounded vision of politics and society. So, the vision of this program is vast and precise. MPCHRS program is basically deal with the basic needs of the ages of globalization, human rights, security and peace.

        Eligibility for Admission: 

  • A bachelor’s degree (Hons) from any discipline with at least 2nd Class/CGPA 2.5 (on a scale of 4.0). 

  • Candidates without honors (in case of having pass course degree) must have minimum 07 years of service in their related field of experiences. 

  • Candidates of pass courses not having required field service experiences must have a master’s degree from any discipline.  

Note: Those who have foreign degree(s) must submit the equivalence certificate issued by concerned authority in Bangladesh.
