OC&S started functioning immediately after the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. It was formally raised on 01 Oct 1977 within the existing accommodation of Central Ammunition Depot (CAD). Initially School Wing (SW) and Training Wing (TW) of OC&S were established at Central Ordnance Depot (COD) and Ammunition Training Wing (ATW) at CAD in 27 November 1972. Ordnance Record was one of the first records of Bangladesh Army to start its functioning in Army Headquarters (AHQ), Ordnance Directorate. However, all the wings and establishments were later shifted to the present location and started functioning from 01 May 1985. OC&S is relentlessly contributing for developing the professionalism of the corps members and advancement of the Army. Hence, the motto of OC&S is ‘Makers of the Professionals’.
