Armoured Corps Centre and School was raised as School of Armour and Centre (SAC) on 01 October 1977 in Jahangirabad Cantonment, Bogura. The then BA-345 Lieutenant Colonel (Retired as Major General) Ruhul Alam Chowdhury, psc was the first Commandant, Subsequently, on 11 March 1979 this institution was educated to Majhira Cantonment, Bogura. SAC started its journey with School Wing and Training Squadron later, on 23 April 1991 SAC was renamed as Armoured Corps Centre and School (ACC&S). For its brilliant achievements Armoured Corps Centre and School was awarded with coveted National Standard on 25 April 1994 and Regimental Colour on 26 April 1994. On 25 October 1977, BSS-387 Lt Col Kh Nurul Haque, psc joined the School of Armour as the first Chief Instructor. First technical course conducted at SAC was D&M Unit Instructor Course 1 (DUIC-1) for 10 Weeks from 06 February 1978 to 15 April 1978 and were attended by two JCOs and eight NCOs. First Armour Officers Basic Course (AOBC-1) was conducted for 32 weeks from 22 August 1987 to 01 April 1988 with 15 Student officers from 13, 14 and 15 BMA Long Course. NCO Academy was raised in school of Armour on 27 April 1991 and Conducted NAC–1 to NAC-13, Later NCO Academy was shifted to its present Location on 21 February 1997.
