Biography

Shashish Shami Kamal is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Development Studies, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). He completed his BSS and MSS degrees in  from the University of Dhaka. Later, he went to the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London to get his MSc in the Political Economy of Development as a recipient of the Commonwealth Scholarship. He joined the Department of Development Studies at Bangladesh University of Professionals in 2017. Prior to joining as an Assistant Professor, he worked as a Research Associate at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD). His research interests revolve around the political economy of development, institutional economics, industrialization, and public policy.
