Biography

IsratJahan has been employed as a faculty member in the field of EnvironmentalScience within the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at the BangladeshUniversity of Professionals (BUP) since February 2020. Before her current role,she gained experience working in various research-based organizations includingthe Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS), the Institute of Water andFlood Management (IWFM) at BUET, and the International Union for Conservationof Nature (IUCN) in Bangladesh. Ms. Jahan holds both a master's and abachelor's degree in Environmental Science from the Institute of Forestry andEnvironmental Sciences at the University of Chittagong. Furthermore, sheobtained a second master's degree in Environmental and Natural ResourceEconomics from Durham University Business School in the United Kingdom. Hereducational and professional background encompasses a unique combination ofEnvironmental Science and Natural Resource Economics. She has a keen interestin conducting interdisciplinary research in the fields of EnvironmentalManagement, Climate Change, Disaster Risk Management, and Environmental Policy& Economics.
