Biography

Israt Jahan has been employed as a faculty member in the field of Environmental Science within the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) since February 2020. Before her current role, she gained experience working in various research-based organizations including the Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS), the Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM) at BUET, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Bangladesh. Ms. Jahan holds both master's and bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences at the University of Chittagong. Furthermore, she obtained a second master's degree in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from Durham University Business School in the United Kingdom. Her educational and professional background encompasses a unique combination of Environmental Science and Natural Resource Economics. She has a keen interest in conducting interdisciplinary research in the fields of Environmental Management, Climate Change, Disaster Risk Management, and Environmental Policy& Economics.
