Moniruz Zaman holds a Master of Law (LLM) degree in Commercial Law from the University of Cambridge in 2022 under the prestigious Cambridge Trust Scholarship. He is now serving as an assistant professor in law at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). In addition, he is serving as a moderator of BUP Law & Moot Court Club (BUPLMCC). In his instructive life at the University of Dhaka, he stood first in his both LL.B. (Hons) and LL.M. examinations. He has been awarded with Justice Amin Ahmed Gold Medal for securing the first position in LL.M., and correspondingly was awarded with Barrister Nora Sharif Gold Medal for obtaining the highest CGPA in the LL.B. (Hons) examination. He was also conferred with Professor KAA Quamruddin Memorial Award for best Academic Excellence in the 16th Human Rights Summer School, 2015. In addition to these academic attributes, Mr. Zaman along with his team awarded with ‘Best International Team' in 6th Paras Diwan Energy Law International Moot 2016. His team also became the Runner-Up in Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition 2017 of national round and awarded with the best memorial and later on awarded with ‘Best New Team’ in the international round of the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition. In all these moot court competitions, as a team researcher, he did most of the research work including finding out factual arguments from the moot proposition, analyzing national and international laws and jurisprudence, applying those laws with facts, and overall drafting of the memorial. He also worked as a research assistant in the Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS). Working for the BILS has kept him up-to-date with global human rights developments and challenges.

His current research interests include but not limited to Intellectual Property Law, International Commercial Litigation, International Trade Law, International Business Transactions, International Investment Law, Corporate Governance and Comparative Law.
