Biography

Professor Dr. Sujit Kumar Datta is the Chairman of the Department of International Relations at Chittagong University, Chittagong, Bangladesh. Dr. Datta joined at Research Center for Asian Studies (RCAS) as a Post Doctoral Fellow (Non-resident Fellow) in Qiongshan District, Haikou, China, in April 2022. Dr. Datta did his PhD at the School of Political Science and Public Administration at Shandong University, China. Dr. Datta had completed his 4th year Honors and Masters in the Department of International Relations, Jahanginagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. After that, he worked as a faculty member at the BRAC Training Division (BTD). Dr. Datta joined the Department of International Relations, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, as a Lecturer in January 2010. Dr. Datta has authored several articles and book chapters in renowned national and international peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Datta has presented several research papers at international seminars and conferences in the USA, China, India, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Datta attended several International Webinars as a Resource Person in several countries.  He supervises several MPhil and Masters students in the Department of International Relations, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. He is now involved in different research projects granted at home and abroad.
