Dr. Md. Sahidur Rahman is a Professor & former Chairman, Department of Management and former Director, Bureau of Business Research, University of Chittagong. He was born on 01/02/ 1971 at Gopalganj, Bangladesh. He completed his SSC and HSC from S.M. Model Government High School and Government Bangabandhu College, Gopalganj. He also completed his BCom (Hons) and MCom in Management from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh with first class (2nd position) in both the examinations. Additionally, he received MSc (International Business) and MScR (Organization Studies) from the University of Dundee and the University of Edinburgh, UK respectively. He has been awarded PhD (Title: Relationships among Emotional Intelligence, Leadership Styles and Job Performance of the Employees in Chittagong Export Processing Zone) by the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Dr. Rahman joined the Department of Management as a Lecturer on 28/09/1995 and became a Professor on 15/12/2012. He has already published more than 105 research, conference and seminar papers, among others, in local and foreign journals. His area of interest is organizational behavior and human resource management. He has been working as an external reviewer of many local and foreign journals. Already two PhD and two MPhil students have received their degrees under his supervision. Currently he has been supervising three PhD and three MPhil students. He has been working as a member of PhD adjudication board in the University of Dhaka and Jahangirnagar University. Dr. Rahman has also been working as a facilitator/resource person on ‘writing a research paper’ in different public and private universities. He is an active member of five editorial boards of different journals. He has been awarded different scholarships like Scholarly Award (Bangladesh Academy of Business Administration), Charles William Wallace Trust Scholarship (London), CHSS Scholarship (University of Edinburgh), Overseas Scholarship (University of Dundee), Board Scholarships, Junior & Primary Scholarships. Additionally, he holds different membership such as Life Registered Graduate (University of Dhaka), Life Member of Management Net (University of Dhaka), Life Member of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (Gopalganj), Life member of Gopalganj Social Welfare Association, Life Member (Dhaka University Alumni Association, Dundee University Alumni Association, Edinburgh University Alumni Association).
