Biography

Md. Imrul Basher Shohag is a seasoned media professional and academic with extensive experience in journalism, visual communication, and media production. He is currently serving as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). In addition, he imparts specialized technical knowledge as a Course Instructor of Computer Graphics (CG) at the Bangladesh Cinema and Television Institute (BCTI) and teaches Video Editing Theory and Tactics at the National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMC).

Before joining BUP, Shohag was an academician in the Department of Journalism, Communication, and Media Studies (JCMS) at the State University of Bangladesh, where he played a key role in shaping future media professionals. His dedication to education extends beyond the classroom, as he has also contributed his expertise to various NGO and INGO initiatives, including Teach for Bangladesh (ToB), working with marginalized communities to empower them through digital media and communication.

Shohag holds both BSS and MSS degrees in Mass Communication and Journalism from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). His professional journey includes significant industry experience, having worked as an Assistant Director and Visual Editor at BOXOFFICE, where he mastered Graphic Design, Video Editing, Color Grading, and Motion Design. His expertise spans traditional, digital, and social media, with a specialization in 2D and 3D animation, allowing him to create compelling and dynamic visual narratives.

With a deep passion for media, journalism, and visual storytelling, Shohag seamlessly integrates his technical skills with academic knowledge, offering students a real-world perspective on modern media trends and technologies. His ability to bridge the gap between industry practices and classroom learning makes him an invaluable contributor to both the academic and professional media landscape.
