Biography

Md Ikra is a law academician based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, currently working as a Lecturer in the Department of Law at Bangladesh University of Professionals. He holds a Master of Laws degree from Bangladesh University of Professionals in 2021. Previously, he completed his Bachelor of Laws from the same institution in 2020.

Md Ikra is an accomplished researcher and writer, having published several papers on a wide range of legal issues. His work has been published in several national dailies and journals such as the Employee Responsibilities and Rights Journal, where he co-authored an article on industrial killing in Bangladesh. He has also contributed a book chapter on genocide denial in Essays on TRANSITIONAL JUSTICE ASIAN PRACTICES.

In addition to his academic and research pursuits, Md Ikra has also participated in a range of extracurricular activities. He served as an Assistant Secretary for the Research and Publication Wing at the BUP Law and Moot Court Club. He also volunteered and interned at the Center for the Study of Genocide and Justice, Liberation War Museum in Dhaka.

With a reputation for academic excellence and a passion for teaching, Md Ikra has also held lecturing positions at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (March 2023- September 2023), University of Information Technology and Sciences (April 2022- March 2023) and Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (December 2021- April 2022). He was awarded the Best Mooter at the 1st Professor Shah Alam Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition in 2020 and received the Dean's Letter of Appreciation from the Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies at Bangladesh University of Professionals in 2019 for outstanding academic performance.

Md Ikra is an ambitious legal researcher, writer, and teacher who is passionate about using his knowledge to contribute to the legal profession in Bangladesh and beyond.
