Biography
Amit Hasan Anik is a dedicated and passionate young academician and researcher with a strong academic background in environmental science. He obtained both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). Currently, he serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Science at BUP, where he imparts his knowledge and expertise to aspiring environmental scientists. Amit's journey in academia has seen him in various roles, including a Lecturer in the Department of Environment Protection at the German University Bangladesh (GUB), a Research Associate at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, and a Research Assistant at the Atomic Energy Research Establishment. His research interests encompass a broad spectrum, ranging from toxic elements and emerging contaminants to hydro-biogeochemistry, environmental toxicology, human health risk assessment, and microplastics. More specifically, his current research focuses on fate, effects, mechanistic pathways, and source apportionment of Emerging Contaminants (Per- and polyfluoroalklyl substances (PFAS), Antibiotics, OCPs, PPCPs, EDCs, etc.) in different environmental compartments. As a novice researcher, Amit has already made a significant impact, authoring 16 scientific articles and book chapters (with 280+ Citations) in esteemed journals (Q-1/Q-2) of Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
