Biography
As-salamu 'Alaikum Wa-ra'hmatullah,
Morsheda Akter Heme has had an outstanding record throughout her academic career. She obtained her Bachelor of Social Science (BSS Hons.) in Sociology from the Sociology Discipline of Social Science School at Khulna University, securing the highest CGPA in her batch. She then completed her Master of Social Science (MSS) in Sociology from the same discipline, securing the second-highest CGPA.
Ms. Heme has demonstrated remarkable talents and a keen interest in sociological research, earning a commendable grade in both her undergraduate and postgraduate theses. Her unceasing inquisitiveness and interest in learning about different social issues from various perspectives have paid off, as she published several articles and a book chapter in internationally recognized journals and publishers.
In February 2025, Ms. Heme joined the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) as a lecturer in the Department of Sociology, aspiring to spend her lifetime teaching and studying social problems with the hope and prayer to make a difference one day. Simultaneously, involving herself with social research focusing on vulnerable and marginalized population segments of Bangladesh from a sociological standpoint. Through her work, she aims to inspire young sociologists to engage in research-driven solutions to critical social issues. Additionally, her research seeks to foster meaningful collaborations between academicians and policymakers to address pressing societal challenges.
