Biography

Mustafa is an educator and researcher in economics, currently teaching in the Department of Economics at Bangladesh University of Professionals. His academic journey has been marked by both dedication and distinction. He began his schooling at Dhaka Residential Model College, followed by Notre Dame College. Later, he completed his honors degree in 2021 and his master’s degree in 2022 in economics at Bangladesh University of Professionals. He graduated with distinction earning him the Dean’s Letter of Appreciation.

He began his career at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (March 2023 - June 2025), where he taught “Fundamentals of Economics” and “Environment, Sustainability & Law”. He then moved to Southeast University (July 2025- January 2026), where he taught “Statistics for Business and Economics” and “International Finance”. Since February 2026, he has continued his teaching and research at BUP, where he brings together his expertise in statistics, econometrics, and international trade with a strong commitment to student success.

Alongside teaching, Mustafa has contributed to research in diverse areas including mobile financial services, financial inclusion, short-term financing, volatility forecasting in stock market. He also worked as a research assistant at the Center for Higher Studies and Research, BUP. Beyond academics, he has actively participated in the management of extracurricular events and organizing debate competitions. 

Mustafa brings creativity and precision to his teaching by developing scenario-driven assessments that are designed to equip students with innovative and cutting-edge skills. Beyond the classroom, he brings the same dedication to his research and extracurricular involvement, fostering both academic and personal growth. His journey as an academician reflects both dedication and versatility, shaped by experiences across several educational institutions in Bangladesh.
