Biography

Rahima Akter is a lecturer in the Department of Economics with a strong commitment to teaching, academic excellence, and student development. She is dedicated to creating an engaging and interactive learning environment where students can understand economic concepts through practical applications and real-life examples. She strongly believes in continuous learning, research, and contributing positively to education and society through academic and professional engagement. 

She served as a Lecturer in Economics at Presidency University from 7 September 2025 to 31 January 2026. During her tenure, she taught a wide range of undergraduate courses, including Introduction to Macroeconomics, Statistics-II, Mathematical Economics-II and Economics of Poverty, Gender and Inequality, and . At the Professional Master’s level, she taught Mathematical Economics, Microeconomic Theory, and Basics of Statistics. Her research interests include Labour Economics, International Economics, Microeconomic Theory, and Development Economics.
