On the occasion of World Pharmacists Day 2026, the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical Studies, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), organized an Interactive Session on 27 September 2026 (Sunday) at the Senate Hall, BUP. The programme was held from 1100 to 1200 hours under the theme “Empowering Pharmacists for Healthier Futures.” The session featured Prof. Dr. Hasan Mahmud Reza, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, North South University, as the key-note speaker. He shared valuable academic and professional insights on the evolving role of pharmacists and their growing contribution to modern healthcare. The interactive session provided an engaging platform for students and faculty members to exchange ideas, raise questions, and deepen their understanding of the pharmacy profession. Approximately 100 participants attended the programme, reflecting the strong academic interest and enthusiasm of the university community. As part of the observance, a Poster Presentation was also organized, where students showcased their scientific knowledge, research interests, creativity, and academic skills. The presentation provided an opportunity for students to communicate scientific concepts effectively while fostering critical thinking and a spirit of inquiry. The programme further emphasized the importance of continuous learning, innovation, research, and professional development in shaping competent and socially responsible pharmacists. The event created a meaningful platform for academic interaction, knowledge sharing, and professional engagement. The programme concluded with remarks from the Dean, Faculty of Medical Studies, who highlighted the vital role of pharmacists in strengthening healthcare services and improving health outcomes. Overall, the observance of World Pharmacists Day 2026 was a meaningful and successful initiative that brought together students and faculty in a spirit of learning, collaboration, and professional development.
