On October 13, 2026, students of the 2024–25 academic year from the Department of Management Studies, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), visited the Bangladesh Bank Currency Museum. This exciting educational tour was an integral part of the "Insurance and Bank Management" (MGT 3203) course, designed to connect classroom theory with real-world practical insights.
This initiative was organized under the supervision of the Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, Brigadier General Md Aminul Akbar Khan, awc, afwc, psc, MPhil and the Department Chairman & Associate Professor, Dr. Ummya Salma. The visit was directly coordinated by the course instructor, Lecturer S.K. Md. Anik Hassan Rabby. The primary objective was to enrich the students' practical understanding of the banking and financial sector.
During the visit, students explored various galleries and witnessed the fascinating evolution of money. The exhibits showcased the incredible journey from ancient metallic coins to modern banknotes, alongside a rich collection of global currencies. Beyond historical artifacts, the tour highlighted the massive evolutionary arc of finance—tracing the shift from traditional currency systems to modern monetary policies and the rapid digitalization of today's financial ecosystem.
The learning experience was further enhanced by the expert guidance of museum authorities, Ms. Olivia and Mr. Md. Arifuzzaman. They shared valuable insights regarding the preservation of monetary heritage and patiently answered the students' queries.
Overall, this visit successfully bridged the gap between academic knowledge and practical application. By exploring the complete timeline of currency—from physical coins to modern cashless concepts, the BUP students gained a profound and realistic understanding of banking and financial management.
