The Department of Public Administration at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), organized a seminar titled " Service Quality and Satisfaction of One-Stop Service Center at Local Government in Bangladesh: A Study of Pourashava Digital Center" on May 23, 2024, at the Bijoy Auditorium in BUP, Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka. The seminar aimed to provide students and scholars with a deep understanding of the service quality of PDCs and people’s satisfaction with the services offered by the PDCs. The seminar paper’s key objective was to discuss, analyze, and explore multifarious facets of Pourashava Digital Center through the lenses of Service Quality and Citizen’s Satisfaction, laying the foundation for future policy decisions, guiding the development and implementation of other government initiated commercial services or public private partnership bound ones as similar challenges will be identified for its common ground.
The keynote speaker was Assistant Professor Mohammad Nur Ullah, Department of Public Administration, Bangladesh University of Professionals. The keynote speaker meticulously covered the current landscape of service quality at PDC- Pourashava Digital Center in Bangladesh and analyzed to what extent citizens are satisfied after receiving services at these digital centers in Bangladesh while realizing the citizen's participatory role in service quality and satisfaction, offering valuable insights for scholars and students alike. Assistant Professor Md. Robiul Islam was the panel discussants in the seminar. The discussant shared his experiences and insights on the performance and prospects of these digital centers in Bangladesh, emphasizing the potential for innovation and the importance of a supportive environment.
The seminar concluded with an interactive session between the keynote speakers and participants, where students raised questions regarding the performance and prospects of the Pourashava Digital Centers (PDCs). The Chairman of the Department of Public Administration Lt Col Md. Ikramul Yasin, psc (Retd) conveyed a vote of thanks. All faculty members and students of the Department of Public Administration participated in this seminar. With the moderation of Lecturer Anas Al Masud, Department of Public Administration, the seminar began and ended with giving thanks with the hope for the next seminar.
