PhD researcher Sharmin Jahan, from the 2014-2015 session, presented her pre-defense seminar titled "Practice of Medical Ethics and Professionalism by Recent Medical Graduates in Bangladesh," today at 8:15 AM on August 19, 2024, at the Centre for Higher Studies and Research (CHSR) of Bangladesh University of Professionals. The research focuses on medical ethics and professionalism among recent medical graduates in Bangladesh, a study of considerable relevance given the evolving healthcare environment. The seminar offered a platform for in-depth discussion and feedback on Ms. Jahan’s doctoral work.
The seminar was attended by the advisor of the doctoral committee Dr. Khondoker Mokaddem Hossain, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Professionals; Brigadier General Mohammad Shahiduzzaman Khan, Dean of the Centre for Higher Studies and Research (CHSR); and Captain Mahbubur Rashid, Director of CHSR.
Professor Dr. S M Saidur Rahman Mashreky, PhD, from the Department of Non-Communicable Diseases at Bangladesh University of Health Sciences, supervised Jahan’s research. The seminar was also attended by Brigadier General Md Mizanur Rahman Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Studies at Bangladesh University of Professionals.
The seminar’s panel included Dr. Syed Muhammad Baqui Billah, PhD, Associate Professor of Epidemiology at Sher-E-Bangla Medical College, Barishal; Dr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman, PhD, Associate Professor (Retired) of Community Medicine at Army Medical College, Jessore Cantonment; and Dr. Syed Masud Ahmed, PhD, Professor and Director of the Centre of Excellence for Health Systems and Universal Health Coverage (CoE HS&UHC).
