In a significant stride towards advancing rural development and fostering academic collaboration, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) and Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 04 December 2024. The agreement aims to promote research, academic exchange, and practical initiatives aimed at enhancing sustainable rural development across Bangladesh. The MOU was officially signed by Brigadier General Md Rabbi Ahsan, ndc, psc, Dean, FASS, BUP, and Saif Uddin Ahmed, Director General, BARD, in a ceremony attended by faculty members, scholars, and key officials from both organizations. Under the terms of the MoU, BARD and BUP  have agreed to collaborate on a range of initiatives including joint research projects, training programs, and seminars focusing on rural development issues such as agricultural sustainability, rural entrepreneurship, and social welfare. The partnership will provide a platform for both institutions to engage in practical, community-driven development programs aimed at improving the lives of rural populations across the country.
The partnership between  BARD and BUP  is expected to play a vital role in strengthening Bangladesh’s rural development sector, particularly as the nation focuses on addressing the challenges posed by climate change, rural poverty, and economic disparity. Both institutions are optimistic that the collaboration will not only benefit rural communities but will also provide invaluable learning experiences for students and professionals involved in rural development work.
