10th International INSEARCH Conference on Governance in Society, Business and Environment, at Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD)

The 10th International INSEARCH Conference on Governance in Society, Business and Environment was held with the main theme “Governance Education Nexus for Sustainable Environment” on February 23-24, 2025, at Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD), Cumilla, Bangladesh. The INSEARCH conference is organized by Netinsearch International - Network for Integrative Research in collaboration with Asian Conference on Population and Development (ACPD), China, Center for Administrative Research and Innovation (CARI) of the University of Dhaka, Stamford University Bangladesh, GAIN International of Australia, EquJust of Tampere University in Finland, and hosted by Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) Cumilla, Bangladesh. This conference was sponsored by Sena Kalyan Sangstha and Palli Daridro Bimochon Foundation.

 

The conference covered four keynote sessions that included ‘Population and Disaster Governance’, ‘Education, Research and Sustainable Development Goals’, ‘Human Rights, Peace-building and Challenges of Democracy’ and ‘Youth, Demographic Dividend and Research’. The keynote speakers were:

1. Dr. Anja Heikkinen, Professor, Faculty of Education in the Faculty of Education and Culture, Tampere University, Finland

2. Dr. Xiaochun Qiao, Professor, Peking University, and Chairman, Asian Conference on Population and Development (ACPD)

3. Major General Md Habib Ullah, SGP, SPP, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil, Chairman, Sena Kalyan Sangstha.

4. Dr. Mostaq M. Hussain, Professor of Accounting, Faculty of Business, University of New Brunswick-Saint John

5. Dr. SM Abdul Quddus, Professor, Business School, Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (WNUAS).

6. Dr. Amir Mohammad Nasrullah, Professor, Public Administration and Inspector of Colleges, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh.

7. Dr. Golam M. Mathbor, tenured Full Professor and Program Director, Doctor of Social Work (DSW) in Human Rights Leadership, School of Social Work at Monmouth University, New Jersey, USA.  

8. Sharif  Nafe As-Saber, President, Governance and Administration Innovation Network (GAIN International) Sultan Qaboos University, Oman

9. Dr. Mohammad Mainul Islam, Professor and former Chairman of the Department of Population Sciences, University of Dhaka

10. Dr.  M. Rezaul Islam, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), University of Dhaka, and Professor of Social Work at the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

 

In this conference, 22 students from the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) participated and presented six research papers under the supervision of Assistant Professor Md. Robiul Islam, Lecturer Ayesha Siddika, and Lecturer Meherin Ahmed Roza. The titles of the papers are:

  • Digital Disruption on Teaching and Learning in Higher Educational Institutions: A Study on Public University of Bangladesh.
  • University Students’ Perception on Quota Reform in Civil Service: The Bangladesh case.
  • Youth Entrepreneurship and Its Impact on Employment Creation: A Study on University Students of Bangladesh.
  • Effectiveness of Banning Plastic Bags in Urban Areas of Bangladesh: A Study on Dhaka City
  • Movement of Electric Three-Wheelers and its Impact on Urban Community: A Study on Dhaka City.
  • Ashrayan Project and Its Impact on Inclusive Development: A Study on Pabna District
