The study tour of DS-2022, held from 1st November to 5th November, focused on exploring diverse livelihoods, environmental sustainability in tourism, cultural heritage, and socio-economic aspects in Cox’s Bazar through field visits, discussions, and critical reflections. As part of the program, students visited Moheshkhali, Shutki Polli, the Wind Power Project, the Burmese Market, and Patuartek, where they examined local trade, fishing communities, environmental conservation efforts, and the socio-economic impact of tourism. Alongside these visits, participants engaged in debrief sessions, storytelling, and reflection activities, which encouraged critical engagement with their observations. The outcome of the trip was that students gained firsthand experience of livelihood strategies, environmental challenges, and development issues, thereby enhancing their practical knowledge of development discourses. Overall, the study trip provided an enriching academic and cultural experience, fostering stronger bonds among students and faculty while deepening their understanding of key development themes.
