On 11 January 2026, the Faculty of Medical Studies organized an orientation program for an international exchange course under the Master of Public Health (MPH) program titled “Climate Change and Health.” This exchange initiative brought together students from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) and Maastricht University (UM) as part of our ongoing commitment to global health education.
The program welcomed five international students from Maastricht University (UM)—Jasmin Azarderakhsh, Jan Giesecke, and Marcel Koelmann from Germany, and Jip Broens and Emma Maria de kort from the Netherlands—who joined four Bangladeshi MPH students to participate in this academic exchange. The course has been meticulously designed by distinguished faculty members of the MPH program, with a focus on climate resilience and health systems in the context of global environmental change.
Through interactive learning and collaborative group work, students will engage in shared learning experiences, exchange diverse perspectives, and develop a deeper understanding of the health impacts of climate change across different regional and cultural settings. Participants will work in mixed international teams, fostering academic dialogue, cultural exchange, and mutual learning.
Hosting this exchange program reflects BUP’s continued commitment to excellence in public health education, cross-border academic cooperation, and the development of future global health leaders. The Faculty of Medical Studies is pleased to welcome students from the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, Maastricht University.
