BBA General Department Puts BUP on Global Map: First Bangladeshi Team to Podium at HSBC HKU Challenge

Team Bangladesh University of Professionals achieved Second Runner-Up at the world's largest undergraduate case competition, HSBC HKU Business Case Challenge 2026, competing against 24 teams from 20 countries across four rigorous global rounds.

After three intense case rounds, the teams accumulated performance placed them among the top four finalists, ahead of several world class universities including the University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, University of Amsterdam, University Malaya, Sampoerna University, Chulalongkorn Business School, University of Auckland, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Korea University, Nanyang Technological University, Peking University, Fudan University, and many others.

The grand finale was held on June 5 at the HSBC Headquarter, where the finalists tackled a challenging case centered on Ronald Chan and Chartwell Capital. Representing Bangladesh University of Professionals, the team comprised of Shakhawat Salim, Md. Ridwan Sakib Anjum, Mohammad Faiyad Hossain, and Naveed Abrar, along with team coach Asst. Prof. Sadman Kabir, all from the Department of Business Administration-General.

After four demanding rounds of analysis, strategy, and presentation, the team secured Second Runner-Up, finishing only behind the University of Sydney and Chulalongkorn University. This achievement marks not only a proud moment for Bangladesh University of Professionals but also for Bangladesh as a whole, as they become the first team from the country to reach the podium at this global competition. It truly reflects the team's resilience, analytical strength, and ability to compete at the highest international level.
