Lt Col Md Alauddin Al Mamun (Retd) is an accomplished professional, academic, administrator and military leader with over three decades of extensive experience in the Bangladesh Army, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), state-owned enterprises, and international peacekeeping operations under the United Nations. His career demonstrates a blend of strategic leadership, organizational development, and commitment to institutional excellence.

Currently serving as Additional Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Proctor at the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), he has also served as Provost, Chairman of the Departments of Marketing and Accounting& Information Systems, and Additional Director for Budget and Academic Affairs at BUP. During his tenure, he played a pioneering role in introducing the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum, digital governance, and student welfare initiatives that strengthened the university’s academic and administrative framework.

Before joining academia, Lt Col Mamun held several key command and administrative positions in BGB and the Bangladesh Army, including Director of the Record Wing(BGB HQ) and Commanding Officer of the 22 BGB Battalion. He also served as General Manager at Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory (BMTF), where he led major reforms in finance, procurement, and marketing operations.

Internationally, he represented Bangladesh as a UN Peacekeeper in South Sudan and Haiti, where he earned United Nations Medals for his distinguished service in conflict management and humanitarian operations.

LtCol Mamun holds an MBA from the University of Dhaka, an MSc from BUP, and is currently pursuing PhD research at BUP. He is widely respected for his professionalism, visionary leadership, and contributions to education, governance, and national development.
