THE CONCEPT AND PRACTICE OF SECURITY IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Department of Peace, Conflict and Human Rights under the Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies (FSSS), Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), organized a guest lecture titled “The Concept and Practice of Security in the 21st Century” on July 03, 2024, at the Bijoy Auditorium. The lecture aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the key issues and debates in the field of security studies.

The Speaker was Dr Gemma Collantes Celador, The speaker meticulously covered several critical topics, including the definition of security, the spectrum of securitization, sources of insecurity, state capacity, globalization and its impact on security, and various challenges faced in this domain. The seminar concluded with an engaging interactive session, fostering a productive dialogue between the keynote speaker and the participants.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Nazmus Sakib, psc, Chairman of the Department of Peace, Conflict and Human Rights, graciously conveyed a vote of thanks. The lecture was well-attended by all faculty members and students of the Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies (FSSS).
