Field Visit in RDA, Bogura

26 Apr 2026

Masters students of Public Administration Department went to RDA, Bogura for a field visit. They learned how rural development programs are designed and implemented. Students observed the training system for government officers working in rural areas. They also saw how RDA collects primary data from rural citizens regarding agricultural, microfinance, and healthcare initiatives. The visit helped students link classroom theories of decentralization and citizen-centered governance with practical field realities.

Students acquired practical insights into rural development planning and the administrative challenges of implementing programs at the grassroots level. The visit enhanced understanding of how structured training at RDA builds capacity for participation and accountable governance. Additionally, students learned data collection techniques used by RDA researchers to assess public service delivery in villages. This experience bridged the gap between contemporary public administration theories (efficiency, digitalization, decentralization) and various social issues and challenges.

The field visit to the Rural Development Academy was highly beneficial for the students. They learned how training and research support rural development and poverty reduction. The experience of observing field-level data collection and governance challenges will help them become more effective public administrators. Overall, the visit made their coursework on contemporary public administration in Bangladesh more practical and relevant.
